Dumb it Down is a three piece alternative rock band from Anchorage, Alaska. The band features Willem Krieter on vocals and bass, Nick Emerson on drums, and Jimmy Johnson on guitar. The group formed in the Spring of 2023 from the ashes of their previous band, Greenhouse. On January 1st, 2024, the band released their debut album Newsflash! on streaming services. The band would go on a year long hiatus following the release, kickstarting their return in January 2025.

Dumb it Down defines their sound with twinkling guitar riffs, punchy rhythms, and powerful vocals. Finding the term “progressive emo” fitting, the band draws from alternative rock influences across the spectrum.
